Káren Fernandez

May 12, 1962 - April 11, 2021

Káren was a colourful character. She was an excellent teacher with a passion for Literature and had high expectations of all her pupils. She cared ferociously for her own family, her children and her grandchildren and devoted her life to caring for Chai after losing her son, Ben. She never suffered fools gladly and she lived by her own rules. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and colleagues.

Karen worked alongside me for a short time in the A level Media Department at The Corsham School. Her kindness, support and care for the students were incredible. In the brief time I knew her, I understood just how much she wanted to create a happy life for her Granddaughter and I’m so glad to have met her, albeit briefly. She was one of the good ones and I wish her family and friends love and peace at this impossible time.
