It is regrettable that the most I've ever known my great grandmother would be hearing stories about her remarkable life at her funeral. I mean I've always heard stories about her but not like this. I've even met her a handful of times during family trips 'down south' It is clear however that her impact on the lives of so so many is a direct testament to her commitment to Christ and a dedicated service to others. Her love, her prayers, her faith, her commitment, her selfless service, her sacrifice. She was never idle I've heard. Always busy in the welfare of others. I desire to live a life like her. So invested in giving to others. I desire to make as large as an impact as she did. I hope to come close. I hope I do. I am sure that if I ever become even half the woman she was, I'd be one hell of woman indeed. SIP Juanita Jones
One of my favourite memories of granny was her women ministry trips to different children homes and homes for the elderly; she would plan an entire program and we'd get on a bus on Sabbath and drive for what seemed like hours, to a strange place to spend Sabbath with pleasant and grateful strangers, I would sometimes give special music on these visits and the entire ordeal made me appreciate things in my life I wouldn't have, had I not ventured on these trips of hers... She was such a giving person and her commitment to service was truly one of the things I admire the most about her, she was so selfless, always working hard, always the first one awake and busy.
This lady right here was my only living grandparent, in fact she was the only one I really knew. She was firm but boy oh boy was she an entertainer. I enjoyed her singing and dancing around the house. I especially loved to see and hear her enjoying a good laugh. Family was very important to her and she instilled that in me. She never forgot to pray for each of us, even if that meant hours of prayers. I never did get to carry her on that trip we planned, so I'll have to make that up to her when we meet again!
Although I didn’t know her very well, I’ve been told numerous stories of how she cared for her family and many others. I recall our family visits and the love she displayed toward my daughter, her great granddaughter.
The fondest memories I have are the camps & excursions she organized. They left an indelible impression on me.
One of my favourite memories of Granny would have to be the weeks we spent with her during the July-August vacation. We were able to observe her as she worked her magic while also building stronger bonds with each other.

My memories included sweet tastes and smells of kurma and sweetbread. A hot mouth with quick responses and numeorus discussions of when would I be getting married. It was always a joy to visit during vacation or even just for a day. She was my only living great grandmother and my daughters only living great great grandmother. I am glad my daughter was able to see her in person on numerous occasions. I definitely agree with my sister Tyishanna, I learnt alot during her going away service. SIP granny
