During his time at ANSTO, John made a significant contribution working on major projects including the Innovation Precinct, as well as NMI and CSIRO matters. John contributed greatly to the development of all ANSTO’s campuses. As property manager, John was the face of ANSTO among the tenants, building strong relationships with all. Due to COVID-19 there are modifications to funeral gatherings so please share your memories and pass on your condolences to John's family. John was liked by many across ANSTO. He was the absolute professional and highly regarded for his composed nature and thoughtfulness. He was a valued ANSTO senior manager and will be greatly missed.

Hi .I started with John as a apprentice Plumber and Gasfitter on 7th January 1974 at the Australian Gas Light company doing our training at the Mortlake Gasworks . We started our working careers together aged 17 . After 4 years of working in different depots we parted company with me staying as a serviceman and Johnny G rising through the ranks where he was involved in asset management . I remember seeing John in the last days of the Gasworks and offered to buy the old Blacksmiths shop at ""mates rates "" which he laughed at . I was thinking of that episode and of John a few weeks ago as the heritage listed blacksmiths shop sold for nearly 8 million big ones . I last saw John at his farewell from AGL in the mid 2000's I can honestly say looking back at our teen years John was probably the most genuine ,astute and the smartest of our apprentice group ..If anyone can pass this to his family to contact me I would be appreciative .
