John Milner

April 25, 1971 - December 28, 2020

At times as sad as this it is hard to find the words to articulate both the individual and collective sorrow that the passing of John has made us all feel. This page in John's memory is where we can all share our condolences with John's loving family and let them know we are thinking of them.

I met John 25 years ago when he was with Grosvenor and me with Mark Rich. Since then I had the great honour and pleasure to become not only his chartering client, but a very close friend. It is hard to imagine anybody more honest, straight forward, professional, knowledgeable and funny in the same time. When you had John for a friend, you realized what a real friendship meant. Always positive, always with an answer for a problem, always sharing his good hart and optimism. "There is always a ship Mr M" he used to tell me....We had lots of difficult times and many more great times together. I can't describe the void this tragedy left in my life. RIP John

“Si, would it be weird if I had that picture of me and em from your wedding printed and put it up in my flat?” I don’t know if you got round to it - or quite frankly were even serious - but serious, Weird or not mate, it’s now up for good and one we for sure will look back on with fond memories!

Never met John but always loved dealing with him during my days at Vitol and John’s at Grosvenor. Calm, cool, and collected. Funny and always a class act. Seeing these photos posted by others makes me smile. Knowing he’s gone just makes me sad. Godspeed John. Blessing on your family and friends my brother.

john and i really got on from our first time meeting each other, from the off, we'd go have a few beers me and him and i remember after every time i come away after i'd feeling great and happy, i used to wind him up about his fancy scarfs he wore and about how much he loved that pokemon game. in the short time i knew him i knew he had great love for his family and how genuine he was, if we'd chat about work I'm having a bad week he'd turn it completely on its head and find a positive. I will miss you in the dock mate, much love will xxx
