Joan Grimshaw (née Grime)

October 20, 1934 - December 28, 2020

Joan Grimshaw (née Grime) passed away peacefully on 28th December 2020. She was born in Burnley in 1934 and spent her life in the town, brought up by her beloved Mam, Annie Grime. In 1954, she married Eric Grimshaw and they moved to their home in Duke Bar, where they raised Michael, Susan, Shaun, Lynne, Peter, and Ann. Joan was a member of St John's congregation and the Ecumenical Movement, a much-respected shop-steward at Lucas factory, heavily involved in the union, and a founding member and volunteer at Pendleside hospice. She loved to travel, whether to Blackpool or the Algarve, London or Amsterdam. We invite you to share your memories of our wonderful mum, nana, sister, family member, and friend, for us all to cherish. Our loved ones live on in the stories we tell about them and a person only really dies when the last person that loved them passes.
