Jim Gillies

June 25, 1969 - November 13, 2021

Our friend and colleague, Jim Gillies, passed away at home on Saturday the 13th of November after a long battle with cancer. Jim has been part of SLC for over 16 years working in many teams including FE, DSA, BCF and, for the last 6 years, the Assess Platform. Jim has had a huge influence in all the teams he's worked in, but more importantly he has left a positive lasting impression on so many people he worked with. His loss will be felt much more widely than the Assess Platform and he will be missed by many within SLC. Jim is survived by his wife Aileen and daughter Emma and our thoughts go out to them at this time.

I’ve known Jim since he worked in FE and I was in the Data warehouse team. He was always good for a chat and loved talking about his life with Aileen and Emma. He was very proud of his family I didn’t know that he’d been ill and it was a big shock when I realised that we’d never cross paths again My condolences to Aileen, Emma and your family. Jim is a big loss to all of us xx
