Jaxon McAulay

October 22, 2008 - June 6, 2020

Jaxon was a student at Angus Morrison Elementary school in Mr. Sweezey's grade 6 class. He was 11 years old. Jaxon was involved in an accident with a single-vehicle while riding his bike. He passed away shortly after at the hospital. Jaxon will be remembered by staff and students as an energetic, fun-loving and charismatic student. Though he has left us too soon, he will forever live in the memories of his teachers, friends and family. Rest in Peace Jaxon.

So lost for words.... I can’t imagine not seeing this little kiddo in the halls at school. I would often see you standing outside your classroom because you were asked to leave. I’d always give you a hard time .... “again, Jaxon” and we would laugh. We would walk and talk, i’d remind you of how good of a kid you are, give you a candy and away you’d go. I’ll miss our talks. Such a happy guy... always smiling, and joking around. I hope you are at peace little friend... I know there will be many people missing you.

I will always remember Jaxon for the twinkle in his eye and his cheeky smile. He had a charismatic personality that meant he was never alone. He loved to make others laugh and would go to great efforts to have a little fun. He could change the mood of a room in an instant. Jaxon will be greatly missed by the Angus Morrison family.

I remember when lil Jax was born, his blonde curly hair and big blue eyes. Such a sweet little man, and Sarah and Chris such proud parents. Reni and Kayden adored him, as did everyone who knew him. Jo-Anne and Blair, proud grandparents, always there for everyone. Jaxon always had a mind if his own, and that made him the little dude he was. My last encounter with Jaxon was at the last Essa Minor Hockey Dance, I was the MC for the night, and I did dance competitions, Jaxon won! I handed him a 5 pound chocolate bar! His eyes lit up and he was so excited he had won! I was so happy to give the prize to him. Jaxon was my daughter’s classmate and friend, and she misses him so much. Jaxon you leave a legacy in this community, and you will always be loved, remembered and honoured. Forever in the hearts of all of us. Sarah and Chris, our hearts go out to your family. With love always and forever. The Barnes Family❤️

My dear Jaxon. I will most remember our many talks in my office. I always reflected on how wise beyond your years you were. You ALWAYS wanted to make a situation right. It seems so poignant now. I will remember your distinctive smile and your ball cap! Rest peacefully. Look over your loving family. You will always be remembered by so many. xo

We have so many memories of you Jaxon. You were Austin's best friend. Your Fortnite dances were amazing. I remember coming into the livingroom at our place to catch you doing the Orange Justice dance. I laughed so hard. You were so silly! Your many sleepovers here and late nights up playing video games with Austin was always the highlight of his days. I remember bringing you to see the Green family Christmas lights, you just stood there in amazement. We said your names a few times and you didn't even hear us! You loved it. I remember making you omelets for your breakfast, you said they were the best you ever had. And my famous nachos and cheese baked in the oven....you said you never had them like that and they were awesome. Oh Jaxon. This is still surreal. You will be missed by all of us, especially Austin. He lost his best friend, the first friend he made when moving here from NS. But I promise this, you will never be forgotten. Please look over your family and give them strength. We love you!

Jaxon, you will be missed. I'll never forget meeting you when you came to visit my JK class in September. You weren't yet 4 years old, and within minutes of coming into my room you ran up to me saying "Teacher, there's a real 'pider in the 'pider bin." (I had tubs of plastic bugs and animals in the classroom and you gravitated there as soon as you came in). I asked if you would help me rescue it and take it outside, but check with your parents first if that was okay. I could tell instantly that you were kind and excited about learning, and shared my love of nature. It was a joy to have known you. Ms. Sternberg (formerly Ms. Turner)

Jaxon, I am still in disbelief of what happened. I will always remember seeing your bright smile as you walked among the halls of the school. You brightened up AMES daily. I remember seeing you outside on the primary yard during recess, you always had a big group of friends with you and were smiling away. You will be deeply missed. AMES will forever be a little bit darker without your bright smile. Rest in peace.

Jaxon, I have been so lucky to have been your Teacher-Librarian since you were just a little guy! I even had the pleasure of being one of your Grade 6 teachers this year too. I have SO many memories of you: sitting on the carpet enjoying read-alouds surrounded by your friends, checking out your books with such enthusiasm, showing your buddies new magazines, Minecraft or Pokemon books - "hey guys, look at this!", loving all the cool things at our book fairs, participating in STEAM challenges, trying to get Ms. Guergis' attention (Ms. G, Ms. G, Ms. G!), letting me tease you about how you made my frown line SOOO deep and you teasing me back calling me Mother Brown (with a frown). I was always so impressed with how you were SO math smart (that brain was a mini-calculator) and so artistic. I will miss your hair flip and that AMAZING smile with eyes that lit up a room. Please continue to watch over all your friends, teachers and staff at Angus Morrison and we promise we will watch over and support your beloved family, grandparents and friends. You left us too soon, but we will remember you forever. xo Mrs. Brown (with a very sad frown)

Jaxon, you were so kind to those who needed it the most and your smile lit up the room. Your mischievous ways always made me giggle. A recent memory I have from this year is you sitting on the vent outside of Mr. Sweezey’s class... I’d sit beside you or walk by and ask “again Jaxon...” or “What now Jaxon...”, with not much of a response from you just a cheeky half smile and the odd hair flip. I will sincerely miss you, kid.

Jaxon you were one of a kind, your humour, your smile, your wit and strong personality will be missed( and as Ms. MaGee said “the hair flip!”). You have left an impression on everyone you have met ( your friends and teachers as well!). You will truly be missed by all but never forgotten. You left us not only as an angel but as hero as well. I still have very good memories of first meeting you in Mrs. Burlock's class! You were determined to teach me how to "Floss" despite my lack of rhythm and coordination. I will miss yout smiling face and happy demeanor in the halls of AMES!

I remember the time in our music class when something sparked inside you while we were learning the ukulele. You picked up the skills very quickly and not long after you came to school with your very own ukulele. I was so happy to see you enthusiastically showing off your new instrument and proudly defending it's "gentle" colour. You were a natural leader in your class and I was proud to see you show it off. I was happy to tune it for you anytime you brought it in. You always made sure to give a genuine smile and "thank you". You were taken too soon and we will all miss you at AMES, however you'll be with us forever.
