my heartfelt condolences to you all for the loss of your father, grandfather and husband. I have been shocked about the sad news of his death. I spoke to him over the phone when he was babysitting his grand daughter. He enjoyed the time. For me Janos was a friend, an academic mentor and a colleague in the past. I met Janos for the first time in 2006 during the founding ceremony of the German University of Technology in Oman. He was a very special character and so passionate about research, teaching, sciences and communication. Many Omani students enjoyed his teaching approach. He was so unconventional and different. He loved Oman and always enjoyed being outdoors in the Jebel, on his own or with the students or with colleagues. He has touched many lives. he will be missed by many in different parts of the world ... may his legacy continue.
May his soul rest in peace.
