Janos was my colleague for more than 20 years; our offices just one floor apart. He was always full of ideas and when discussing thoroughly a result he was already one more thought ahead. I learnt from him about the beauty of Oman. He was at lead when it came to the foundation of our university's first founding of a daughter university, the GUTech in Muscat. He often told me about his climbing and challenges he mastered. It is hard to think that the mountains took him. Deep sorrow fills these days. My sincere condolences are with his family.
