Ian Wadsworth

January 10, 1946 - February 6, 2021

Ian was funny, warm & kind and got on with life with a no nonsense attitude. Much loved Husband to Jean, Dad to Amy and Juliet, and Grandad to Martha, Arlo and Florence. He loved his family, his plants, his beloved Wigan Athletic, and a good pint. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him. You can make a donation in his honour to NHS charities via Just Giving, https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ianwadsworth

He treated life’s ups and downs with a wry smile or a raised eyebrow, and his first concern was always for others, even when he had more than enough adversity of his own to deal with. His contrasting passions were peacefully gardening and shouting at the football. When it came to the latter, I was truly glad to have been there when his beloved Latics lifted the FA Cup against all the odds. That unlikely triumph of the unassuming little underdog was no more than he deserved after his unfaltering lifelong support. As with football and gardening, so he was with family; giving unfaltering love and unerring support. He will be truly missed.
