Harriet Rathbone

March 8, 1968 - August 23, 2021

It was with great sadness that we heard of Harriet Rathbone's tragic death in her home earlier this week, suddenly and unexpectedly. Harriet was an integral part of the Economic Crime Directorate, and was someone who brought people together with her kindness, humour and effervescent personality. Colleagues from across HSG, other parts of the Home Office, the NCA and NECC and UK Finance will all miss her immeasurably.

While words cannot express how sad I am that Harriet is no longer with us, I did want to say what a pleasure it was to have worked with her, and how proud her family should be of the contribution she made. Over lockdown, never mind the challenges she faced (getting a desk delivered among others...) she was always thinking of others and first in line to offer help with anything - especially those new to the teams. She brought a smile with her to every meeting, and her enthusiasm for getting on with things was positively infectious, and is missed every day. And throughout our time working together, her absolute love for her family (and Wales of course!) came through as she talked about her parents and sharing pictures of their house in all seasons, or of time with her sister and her family. I am so sorry for your loss.
