National Take a Wild Guess Day is celebrated April 15. It is a day that celebrates all kinds of hunches and guesses — even the wild ones. In a world where we are always looking for the right answers, guesses are sometimes the key. A hunch can help us land on what our analytical skills might miss. Hana was part of destination imagination in 4th grade which promotes creative problem solving that often starts with various guesses or ideas. Hana remained engaged in this creative process all through school and then at community organizations like the ywca, the university of Minnesota leadership track and then mentorship of young women.
Hana had a knack for problem solving and creative solutions. She could pose a question, have guesses, and apply solutions to any situation whether it was a house remodel, social justice issue, or a business deal. She also procrastinated and would often go on walks by the river or in a park. This picture is Hana out on a walk with a friend- looks like she’s shrugging her shoulders like one does with a guess. The motivation behind her problem solving was most often to make a persons life better. Hana loves people and wants to see them happy. I love you Hana. I miss you and your beautiful creative ways. I wish you were still here with me.
