We first knew Gordi through Castleford Tennis Club of which he was a founder member. I ( Avril ) partnered him in the mixed doubles league for 20 happy years.
He loved his tennis and was a great servant of the club. However, his party trick on family days was to wind all the children up .... leaving them hyper for their parents to bring them down to earth!
His sporty cars were very important to him and he also was quite a fashionista, who can forget some of his outfits especially a white suit!!
He then became our brother in law and that was the beginning of some really good family times, with many happy hours together.
He came part of our children's lives and was always willing to keep them occupied and amused.
Gordy was a true gentleman, willing to make time to help others. He was a loving family man who has left us all with many wonderful memories.
