Giuseppe Mare

September 16, 1956 - July 1, 2020

Giuseppe started volunteering with Enfield Disability Action over 10 years ago. He progressed into employment in the Independent Living Service. Giuseppe was loved by colleagues and clients with his kind gentle manner and nothing was too much trouble. Giuseppe will greatly missed and we invite you to leave your memories and thanks so we can pass them on to Giuseppe’s family.

Dear Giuseppe, you may already see I needed your help as usual in posting this, as I did it wrong and ended up sending a blank message, and now can no longer turn to you and ask your help to delete it. It reminds me of the many, many things where I turned to you for advice and help, which you always gave willingly and with your characteristic warmth and humour. I miss you - not just as a colleague but as a friend. You were someone who believed passionately that society could be much better than it is, and who in their person could engender that belief in others. My heartfelt condolences to Giuseppe's wife and daughter and his wider family and friends. I remember what my mother's brother said shortly after she passed earlier this year, "She's in heaven now". I don't know what are the precise arrangements in heaven for meeting up, but I would like to think you might meet up for a coffee and conversation - I know she would be as enriched to know you as I have been. Best as ever, Donal.
