So sad to hear that Gareth is no longer with us in person to make our lives so much better - to turn difficult days easier, to brighten up dull moments with a wonderful word or two and to help us sort out those problems that seem so difficult and intractable with a piece of carefully considered wisdom and tact. Though pleased for him, I was devastated when he said he was leaving the School for a while to develop his professional career, even more so when I heard that his absence will sadly be for ever. I asked him how we'd cope without him, and his reply just summed him up - "You'll be fine, and it won't be long before you'll forget who I am and what I did." We'll never forget you, Gareth, and will always remember how you made our world a better place. Rest in peace, my friend.
