My sincere condolences to Fons' family, friends, colleagues, students and all who will miss him. I only have the fondest of memories of him, which started when he allowed me to drop by Tilburg University as a Master student to discuss career options in cross-cultural psychology. He encouraged me to pursue a PhD, and the fact that he took the time to meet with me, a student from a different university, whom he did not know, stayed with me throughout the years. In addition to the joy of watching him present his work, always at the cutting edge of cross-cultural psychology, it was his warm personality that always made it a pleasure to meet him. My sincere condolences...
