He has been a recognised and well-respected member of the international fisheries community. We have had the pleasure of working with him in different contexts, including in the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas, the United Nations and the Food and Agricultural Organisation, where we appreciated his knowledge and expertise as well as his affable character. We will always remember him fondly.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and colleagues in this sad moment.
