I am very sorry to hear of Professor Fabio Hazin's untimely passing. I have had the honour of working with him at FAO in Rome, and in New York, where his knowledge of fisheries, in particular tuna and highy migratory species, made him an essential source of wisdom and guidance. Beyond his technical expertise, he was an extremely approachable, likeable and humble person, who always had time to share his views with younger, upcoming fisheries people like me. I know he will missed greatly for these reasons by all his professional colleagues, and my personal condolences got out to his family and friends at this time. Haere rā, Fabio.
