Clay poppies installation in Carlisle castle, beautiful. With Andra and Chris.
Coffee in London after her b'day party, out with Arthur, Dave and Chris.
By the end of the trip she was jumping around, while I had to take a break every 20min to lie flat on the ground
I was worried she wouldn't make it around the lake, little did I know that she was doing fitness classes every morning before work in her London flat.
Whole day walk around Ullswater, Lake Districts. First time up North!
First time we met Chris! Everyone had a lockdown hairstyle back then hahaa...
Eliza's Facebook profile pic. We were in Boston having clam chowder and sandwiches. This was before Eliza losing her scarf.
We were all meant to pull funny faces, and somehow Eliza decided to stay pretty there.. lol
The last photo we have together in person, when we were finally in the same country. We spent a day wandering around London and chatting away. Always full-bellied laughs with you! I am going to miss you so much.
New Year’s Eve 2007! Here we are sat on the floor drinking slushies because our feet hurt
It was lovely hearing you play in the commonroom - you’d just pick up a guitar and flick your fingers and sound amazing! I still remember how to play one catchy little tune you very patiently taught me, you were a great teacher.
From 2007 & 2008: I’ll forever treasure these cards you made. You were always drawing! My old GIS homework diary is covered in your doodles, and all sorts of nonsensical poems, games and stories all of us did together. You were so creative and hilarious.
Celebrating one of Eliza's birthdays back in the school days - with karaoke of course!
Eliza fell asleep at a house party. Does this sound familiar to you?
Eliza could make anything possible! Great Photoshop skill there!
Happy Gathering again. But this time was for Chinese New Year celebration.
Dim sum at Happy Gathering seemed to be one of our favourite go-to places in Cardiff. "YUM CHA!!" as Eliza taught us the trick.
2012 Eliza's comment: Making traffic jams look cool since 2012!
2012 Eliza (Spot her!) in our dingy architecture practice where the birth of 'Otter'/ 'Memerang' came to be.
Early morning sunrise, we were ready for the day’s adventure.
Pre-foraging doughnut at our local farm cafe in Stepney Green.
A little hungover, resting whilst playing Until Dawn on our PS4.
I loved making Eliza laugh, we took a proper photo after this one.
Why hello there! Random moments with Eliza were the bestest of times.
We finally got her room decorated by Christmas... she cherished her friends and family the most.
Eliza looking effortlessly gorgeous even for a random dimsum breakfast!
Eliza's Love is Love t-shirt will be a recurring theme, representing how much love she had for everybody around her
27 Shots for Eliza's 27th Birthday along with 27 film photos on the disposable camera.
A really nice pic of Eliza taken by Bonnie during our trip to Sarawak in 2015
Walking back down from the summit of Mt Kinabalu with Eliza & Melissa, except Melissa decided to roll.
From KL to London: Creating many happy memories together and celebrating our almost 20 years of friendship
Adventures with Eliza 4: Our last adventure together in 2015 in Kuching, which wouldn't have happened if Bonnie didn't plan it. After we graduated, we always talked about going hiking, kayaking, in faraway places, for years and years. Life then has this funny way of stealing your time and unmet dreams when you're not looking, and before we know it, years have passed. We never got to go on anymore adventures, but I'm grateful for the ones that we did do, and will be holding on to these precious memories of our trips together.
Adventures with Eliza 3: Kayaking in Langkawi and Taman Negara remains one of my favourite trips and something I still talk about today, almost 20 years later. My funniest memory with you on that trip was when we were kayaking down river rapids in Taman Negara, out of control and speeding towards a big tree branch. You managed to duck but I didn't, and ended up being swept off my kayak. It hurt quite abit and we were both choking in the water, but we were both still laughing our heads off and having the time of our lives.
Fellow geographers at work and THRILLED to be photographed doing it!
Adventures with Eliza 2: Practicing kayaking in the school pool, readying ourselves for the next adventure in Langkawi.
Adventures with Eliza 1: Staying a night at Mount Kinabalu before our final ascent to the summit. You were always up for adventures - and I'm so glad we were able to have so many of them through DOE trips.
Our first gingerbread house and Eliza's amazing architecture skills
The cutest panda! This was for Mufti Day at school (2007?) and the theme was something like 'crazy heads'. I have a hazy memory of you jumping on a trampoline balancing a pingpong ball on a spoon... and being really good at it.
Camping at Taman Negara! There were four of us in this tent (+ a stray leech that got in) and someone accidentally sat on and flattened the loaf of bread that was meant to feed us a few meals. We all swam in a big lake and came back covered in bug bites. So many laughs and memories.
Out in a cybercafe, playing what was probably CoD or L4D on oily cybercafe mice. Back then, we spent quite a few nights playing games at home after school. Usually DotA (where you usually played as Lion), or Gunbound. On one of our last calls, we joked about revisiting some silly games from the old days to pass our lockdown boredom - things like ‘Sissyfight’ and that bizarre Spongebob sliding game. I really wish we’d made it happen.
High school - one of our many ‘themed’ days out! We were always coming up with excuses to dress up and hang about malls with our little digital cameras. This was ‘tourist’ day - we all threw on our best tourist outfits and went to loiter around the Curve / IPC.
My absolute favourite memory - shame the t-shirt was only a one-off!
8 March 2021 - When we had virtual drinks for my birthday last year. Never in my wildest imagination would I believe that this would be the very last one spent together with you, my dearest friend and budum
