I went to school with Eddie at De La Salle High School. Eddie had the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known. He hung right in with the rest of us. His disability was a struggle. But I've spoken about him more than once over the years. He was one of the guys and wasn't about to allow his disability to be an obstacle. I think seeing his determination was a beacon for all of us. We looked up to Eddie. I think a lot of people loved him. In his own special way, he made our lives better.
