I loved meeting people through work who had worked with Dion, which there many, as Dion was very dedicated to his research. We met Dion as a family friend, rather than through work, so it felt very special to be able to hear strangers and colleagues speak so well of him in his research capacities, almost like knowing a celebrity. This is a great loss for the scientific community, but because he was also such a wonderful person, this is a greater loss to his family and friends. I wish we had made more time to see him and his family.
