Denis will be greatly missed. It was always a pleasure being in his company. He was unusually good at generating both deeply stimulating and fun intellectual discussions. He really taught me to love research. Working as his research assistant was a great adventure which I will never forget. He introduced me to so many interesting people and ideas, always ensuring the process was pleasurable and exciting. He never took other people's work for granted and was always encouraging and grateful. I am extremely sad that he had to go so soon and that his wonderful wife and daughter had to suffer his loss. He will live on in our hearts and minds forever.
