Deeya jan (as many of us dearly called her) was many things to many people because she herself embodied all kinds of amazing qualities and talents that she kindly extended and shared with those she met. It is hard to describe her with words because Deeya jan was an experience, a person to connect with and be felt. Her strength, positivity, charm, dedication, humility, humour, kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness.... can only be understood by those who knew her.
She made many of us (foreigners in her country) feel at home and part of her family. So in these very sad times, their loss is our loss. My thoughts and prayers are with JJ and Hans, their dad and other family members and close friends.
May the memory of our loved Deeya comfort us and continue to make us smile as we remember all the good times we shared, knowing that we are all very fortunate to have had her in our lives.
