My memories of David are from when I used to come to the Faculty to present a session on Learning Through Play to the PGCE trainee teachers only to find I would be following David. Once I had calmed down, I recognised that David would do a fabulous job of the underpinning theory and I could do the implications for practice. He was always so generous and my very best memory was when he shared video of the School's Council 'Structuring Play' video from the 1970s. I was delighted because that was going to be my starting reference point and we hadn't colluded at all. The Early Years is suffering a sad loss but so many great memories and an amazing legacy is left for generations to come. Thank you.
