Dear Linda, Elisabeth & Sarah, I know you will be supporting each other and I am truly sorry for your loss. David meant so much to so many, he was the most marvellous, colleague and friend, always level-headed, fair and most of all with good humour. I spoke with him recently about two students who wanted to extend his work, as usual he was kind with his time, interest and support for them. I have huge respect for the legacy he leaves of his work and for his remarkable mind and personality. I send support and love to you for your loss, and ours.
