Before Denis came into my life, I didn’t know men could be safe. I didn’t know I could relax in their presence or in their strong arms. In that very important way you saved me, Uncle Denis. You gave a little girl something she needed so much and did not have. It’s no wonder I married an Irish Aries with a broad warm back and sparkling eyes. Thank you for letting me come to you. Thank you for respecting me. For all the sesame noodles, and pints of Haagen Daz honey vanilla, and trips to the Bronx Zoo, and that one Hanukkah where you bought me every single piece of the Samantha American Girl Doll set. I had no idea I could have something so totally frivolous. You taught me the joy of giving, that money can be love. This shaped my entire trajectory in life. Thank you for making an otherwise complex and often terrifying childhood simple and joyous when you were in it. I want my children to feel the way I did with you. I hope you are with Spencer in the great beyond, bossing the angels around. I will love you all my life. The only reason I should ever wish to be small again is to ride on your shoulders without a care in the world while you walk fast down the streets of New York, headed wherever it is I wanted to go. Until we meet again, “Princess Clarity” out.

The same way Denis bossed around his "Three Angels" (Zoe, Angela, and me) while he fought cancer, he will do it with the Angels above... :) No doubt about it and it will have to be ONLY Haagen-Dazs ice cream... :)
