Mr Prior has been my teacher for the past three years, and my mentor for the past two years. Ever since Mr Prior came to Killarney, he always brought a fun and engaging classroom environment, and everyone knew him for his charisma, and his humour. I have always seen, and always will see Mr Prior as a role model, and I'm very grateful for the time we've had together. Mr Prior has encouraged me to be a better student, a better athlete and a better person all round, and I hope one day I can live up to the goals he helped me set. I'll always miss our classes, the football season we had together (which was very successful up until the final), and the times a few of us would stay back after class and talk about what was happening on the weekend, the football or whatever else was going on, it was always nice talking to him like this because he really did care. That was another thing about Mr Prior, he cared, about everyone, not just his "favourite students" or whatever, he always tried his best to help all the students whether they were struggling or not, whether it was with maths, another subject or personal situations. Mr Prior always tried his best to help, and that's extremely admirable.
A few of my friends and I actually dressed as Mr Prior for the year 12 photo, we went to see him after the photo was done and he said we did a pretty good job at replicating his signature vest suit look. I just wish we could've got a group photo with him at the time, but I'm really looking forward to getting that photograph and I'm glad it'll be one of the ways I can look back and remember all the good times we had.
Mr Prior were one of the few teachers that was loved by all the students (sorry to some of the other teachers that weren't but it's just true). If you brought his name up to anyone in the school, you would not hear a single bad word, because Mr Prior was a great person. He never hurt anyone and he always tried his best to make all the students feel welcomed, valued, and supported. He was a teacher who you forgot was your teacher, everyone just saw Mr Prior as a friend, someone who they could talk to about anything, and someone that was always willing to lend them a hand with whatever they might need.
Seeing Mr Prior go is very hard, it hurts a lot. I really hope that his family, friends, colleges and other students are all doing the best they can be in a difficult situation like this and can stay strong for him, it's what he would've wanted. Rest in peace Craig Prior.
