First I was hoping for 3 weeks every single day that Christian will recover. Now I am shocked by the fact such a nice colleague and friend passed away far too early. Christian and I had countless hours of great fun and also deep conversations. I very much enjoyed the time we had together. Whenever we met in the office we took the time for a chat – and if it was just for a “joy-break”. So we learnt a lot about us. I could not image he could leave us so soon. I will miss the honest and open conversations. If there is one thing I will always remember then it is his unique laughter. I can still see his face and hear his laughter. The other element I particular noted in the last years was the caring for his team and the wider Shell community. Reflecting on this very sad situation I found some peace in the fact he used the time with his friends and family well. However, I wish he would have had plenty of years more. There will be now a lot of sadness for Christian’s family, but when I recall all the great stories Christian told me about his family I am sure Susanne, Lukas and Christoph will keep the memory of a loving husband and proud father. We all will miss him a lot. Jörg Debus
