Christian Hoppe

May 25, 1965 - May 11, 2016

Christian Hoppe left us on Wednesday 11 May after a short sudden illness. He left behind Susanne his wife and two sons Lukas and Christoph. Christian lived in Hamburg, Germany and was part of the Shell Trading and Supply Operations team, in which he was leading a global team looking after Product Quality, Claims and Global Inspection Contract. Christian would always be remembered as a great man, fully dedicated to his family and work, and will be dearly missed by all of his friends, colleagues and staff.

My heart just breaks for you all as you are struggling to make sense of this sudden departure of this truly wonderful man. I know he was an tremendous husband and father by the stories he would tell of your vacations, graduation parties, and just every day happenings.....and yes that glorious automated lawn mower! He sent me all kinds of information on his toy and invited me over to see it in action! My husband still talks about this being his next purchase!! Christian and I started working together probably 1-2 years ago and he was just a tremendously friendly, helpful, and humorous throughout our journey. I was in Hamburg in March for a day/night and Christian was such a tremendous gentlemen he offered to pick me up for breakfast and made sure I had a personal chauffeur into the office that morning. Susanne, Lukas and Christoph, I can only imagine the loss you are feeling at this moment but please know Christian loved you each so much, he talked about you frequently and shared your stories with such joy. He would want you to be happy and celebrate his life and love for each other. He had many friends at Shell and we will truly miss him. It is a loss for all of us right now but we will all see him again in the future. With all my sympathies, Cindy Bishop.
