I'm gutted to hear of Charles' passing. He has been such a presence in my world as we navigated the brave new world of the internet and IT in law firms from those early days. I attest to his generosity of spirit - he very kindly spoke at a conference for law librarians which I helped organise back in 2001, when he appeared by videoconference from the UK to our audience in Australia. It was all tense at the time - would this relatively new IT work OK in such an environment and was he wearing his PJs, given the time difference? It did.all work, and we still don't know whether he was fully dressed or not. My sincere condolences to Jane and the wider community.
