Being the extremely glamourous face of FareShare - 7th Dec 2020
Caroll and her red wine at one of the FSGO management team dinners circa 2017
Caroll having a dance off, with whoever dared dance next to her, glass of red wine in one hand, busting moves like no-ones business. Anyone who never saw her dance with Lizzy Clark, missed out big time.
Caroll and Dave at the FareShare Go conference, she was managing the bar!
After so long of not seeing her Caroll and I recently caught up face to face in the Deptford office and my over-riding memory of that conversation was how proud she was of her daughter for having the strength of mind to switch from the law degree that she wasn't enjoying. we both compared how proud we were of our children. The job Caroll did in supporting so many remote staff all across the UK was brilliant and done with a huge smile. Thank you and you will be really missed by so many.
If Caroll was a weather front she would be a Tornado If Caroll were a biscuit she’d be a Chocolate Orange Club If Caroll were here today she’d be as quiet as a Mouse What I learnt about Caroll over the last year of being close to her, was that despite being a Tornado Chocolate Orange Club Biscuit she was actually quite vulnerable and worried what people thought, that mixed with her ‘Do-er’ attitude to work (which was borderline obsessive) was why she went out of her way to do anything for everybody. I don’t know how she did it? She has been instrumental in our team’s response to Covid, she was instrumental in keeping me sane too! She did so much for everybody in FareShare. She’s going to be missed for many reasons. If you ever shared a glass of red (or two) with Caroll you’ll know that she had such an interesting life….she packed in so much to her 60+years I’m personally still in shock that she’s gone and so I wanted to share a few ‘wishes’ that hopefully summarise this life: Caroll, I wish that I had asked you more about your life in Spain - when you said you sourced houses for the TV program A place in the sun! I wish I’d asked you more about your life with horses and how you met Chris your husband - I think he was a Jocky, I think you drove carriages - I wish I’d asked more! I wish I’d asked more about getting married in Vegas (or did I just imagine that?) I wish I’d asked more when you gave me puppy advice and then declared that you mum bred Spaniels and Great Danes! I wish I’d asked more about your Axle the Lizard, the other reptiles and snakes…..well maybe not! I wish I’d asked you more as to how you cut your own hair! I just wish I’d asked more about YOU! You were funny, you were loving, your were loyal, you were generous and kind. I hope we meet again one day so that I can ask you more!

On this day, Caroll and I headed to Southern Central's previous location (in Portsmouth) and came across some hungry swans just next to the site. We managed to grab some bread and get feeding! The swans were super pleased and the bread wasn't wasted, so a win win! The first time I met Caroll (at my interview for FS in 2017), she wore her pink Converse and I'm so glad I managed to grab this picture of her wearing them. So much love to her and her family during this time
