“I was fortunate to have Carl as my Line Manager for my last 3 1/2 years in my MoD career at Wyton. What a man!
I can only echo what so many have said previously. Caring, supportive, with a wealth of knowledge that he was only too happy to share.
He loved to follow different sports. If he planned any leave, you always knew that it would be to watch sport. Horse Racing, Wimbledon, Football - Arsenal in particular.
It was always to watch, although after a bad Arsenal result, he would comment that he should have taken his boots with him and joined in the game.
The most prominent memory I have of Carl though is his wonderful sense of humour! He LOVED to laugh.
His face would go red, his shoulders would shake - the tears of laughter we shared over so many things. And so varied! Whenever I see or hear Shaun the Sheep, I think of Carl.
My thoughts are with his Mum and the rest of his family. He used to speak of them often.
The current Covid situation is making funeral arrangements so difficult. If it were possible, there would be so many people who would want to be with you to pay their respects to such a wonderful human being. I hope you find some comfort from these message and memories”.
“Rest in Peace Carl, one of the best!”.
