I am heartbroken for you all at this time. In parallel, I am hopeful because Elder Bartlett left a deep impression and impact on all of us that we can carry forward. Thanks for sharing him with us all these years. We are indebted to him for how he connected personally with all of us. Even though, we won’t see him physically again (this side of eternity), I hope we still get to experience as much of him as we can through all of you. Bwoy, I love Elder Bartlett though! He taught me Sunday School right when I was starting secondary school & helped me navigate life lessons like only a big brother could for those years (until I “had to” leave his class lol). He didn’t just teach me the bible, but he helped me understand it in context of life. He had the annual Children’s Convention on LOCK! It was fun but it was impactful. As I got older, and he moved to west London, we didn’t see each other or communicate as much, but whenever we exchanged texts, he always made me LOL while leaving an unintended (or maybe intended) deep thought for me to ponder. I thank God for his life more than I realized until I heard he was unwell… and that’s when I realized that men like Elder Bartlett are a rare breed (and I wish all young men had an Elder B). If I become 25% of man he is, I’ve done alright.
Many talk about how TD Jakes impacted them (and he’s a good'n for sure), but we had a “CD” Bartlett & I wouldn’t change that for the world. Enjoy heaven Bishop, I am 100% certain God brought you there in first class with a fine crown awaiting you. See you one day & I just need to hear you say this one line first… “Gimme a J!” ~Love & Respect~ 100%~Steve
