I first met Bill in 2007 when I started my new job at Royal Mail delivering the worst round in the office (true story), and he was receiving exam papers to mark. I looked forward to delivering there as he was always so nice. In addition, it turned out my bag drops were in his porch, when they should've been at another house down the road. He never said anything about why we were randomly dumping bags of mail in his porch for me to collect on my round. I later met Bill when I joined the Labour party and he quickly became a good friend, encouraging me to stand for election, giving me advice and support and continuing when I joined the town council. He really enjoyed his mayoral year and achieved so much which will ensure he is remembered by many more people for years to come. He was kind, generous with his time and always a gent. He was taken far too soon and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
