*TRIBUTE TO BHAGWAN R. KHUBCHANDANI*
CHARIMAN OF THE MELCOM GROUP
BY ALHAJI ABDUL RAHIM HARUNA
It is with deepest sorrow and grief that I pay this tribute to my father and friend.
It is indeed a loss to all of us.
I met in 2008 when I had just started my new construction business on my return home from my stay abroad. This business started with the construction of a commercial property in Ashaiman.
After an extensive search for an occupant, my prayers and fate took me to Melcom. I was first introduced to the gentleman in charge of property acquisition I believe. We negotiated to USD 2,800 from my offer of USD 4,800.00 which I reluctantly accepted.
The gentleman then asked that we meet Chairman to inform him about our deal. Chairman then agreed to inspect the property the next day which, we did. He (chairman) then asked me to report at the office for payment the following day.
To my outmost surprise, Chairman asked that I am paid the USD 4,800.00 I initially offered. I questioned him out of shock and he mentioned that my property and its location deserves the price he has paid to me. This is how humanitarian this man is and has been to me since we met. We have remained very good friend ever-since.
We have subsequently done a lot of businesses together and he has always been a man of his word. I attribute part of my success story to him for his support, advise and above all prayers.
Chairman has brought me close to his family and today I can proudly say I am a member of the Melcom family.
Indeed, we have loss a great father.
Fare thee well Chairman
Fare thee well friend
Fare thee well father
