Ben was a member of the Contact/Support Group established when my country,Trinidad and Tobago,tabled at the UN the call for a permanent international criminal tribunal.During the period 1989 through to the adoption of the Rome Statute and in the years following the operationalisation of the ICC,Ben was always available to render advice and support to me as a young diplomat.His commitment to international justice opened my eyes to the injustices very present and the importance to address such ills.May the work of Ben redound to the benefit of all more so those who are the victims of the most serious crimes of concern to the international community.Well done,good and faithful servant.
