I met Otoade for the first time in 1955 when she came from Ondo to live with my parents Chief & Chief (Mrs.) E. A. Akinkugbe of blessed memory, in order to attend Methodist Girls' High School for her Secondary education.
What first struck me was the beauty and gentleness of this Ondo Princess. Otoade hails from the Royal family of Ondo Kingdom.
Ade, her husband who is my first cousin met Otoade in 1956 when he and his late brother Lai Bolodeoku came visiting me during the holidays. This visit laid the foundation of their love affairs which culminated into marriage in 1964 at New Castle in England, where I was the Best Man. They were extremely close, they were inseparable, they were one until her departure!!!
Otoade excelled in her chosen profession and career. She retired from Nestlé Plc. as Finance and Admin. Controller in 1994. She was highly cerebral. She loved good food unapologetically.
I thank God for a well-lived Christian life and for the husband, children and many grandchildren she left behind.
To my cousin and friend Ade, may the Lord comfort and strengthen you, Amen.
To the Departed - Peace, perfect Peace!
