Andy was one of the good guys. He brightened up his colleagues’ days and was a joy to work with. He was a great champion of the customer and fought hard to ensure they were treated well. We could do with more Andys.
He was fun out of the office too. I remember being sat in the Admiral Byng pub and an unrequested solitary bowl of peas was delivered to our table. We’d ordered no food. Later Andy wandered over with a mischievous glint in his eye and the bowl of peas immediately came up in conversation. Andy never admitted to this unusual prank but I’m 99% it was him. Unfortunately, we’ll never know now but I’ll imagine him chuckling away in heaven whenever the subject comes up.
