Andrew Moss

July 24, 1948 - September 6, 2020

It's with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our beloved father and husband, Andrew Moss, at the age of 72. His passing has left a big void in our lives and he will be sorely missed. We are very grateful for all the kind messages we have already started receiving, they mean a lot to us. Seeing as many of those who knew him are now spread out across the world, we wanted to find a way to capture any memories, stories, thoughts or words that anyone wanted to share. He was a wise, kind, thoughtful, witty, eccentric, mischievous and sensitive soul. Being a teacher was without any doubt his life's purpose which brought him immense pride and joy. He was also a wonderful father, brother, uncle, husband and friend in too many ways to mention. We are grateful to have been a part of his journey and are very proud of what he achieved, and everything he did to encourage and inspire the generations of children that he taught. To quote him in his own words... "What a weird and wonderful life it has been"...

I’m so sorry to hear this news. The fact that I have just received a message from Natalia (Italian section) to inform me, goes to show how far the bubbly, kind, joy-filled personality of Mr Moss travelled. Just this summer I was going through old photos and on my class photo of year 3/4 jmr Moss is laughing so much his eyes are scrunched together. And if memory serves me correctly he may even be sporting a man-bag, so he was clearly far ahead of the fashion pack. Mr Moss taught my in my first years at ESm and he was such a brilliant teacher. 30 years later I remember him and his personality as if it was yesterday. Sending so much love to the family in particular Clare and Cassie. Xxx Anne Celine

Dear AC, Thank you so much for your lovely comment; it means a lot. Yes, a man-bag was part of his wardrobe even in those days, a lovely handmade, leather one he got in Rome I think... :) Cass x

Hey Anne Celine - so nice to hear from you, thank you for your lovely words. I'd love to see that photo if you ever come across it again? It's very heartening to hear that others saw in him what we saw too. Lots of love, Clare x
