Alione was a close ally to me both as a friend and proffessionally. When I was running for the post of Executive Director of UNHABITAT in 2009, he and late Marium Unisa together with othrs were at forefront of providing me with proffessional advise and preparing me for the interview. I will always owe him allegiance for that. I admired his proffessionalism and commitment to the Urban Agenda. We often used to have lunch together when ever I was at the UN Complex and shared a lot both proffessionally and socially. I really feel touched by his sudden death.
