Dr Badiane was passionate about Africa's development and the inherent capacity of Africa to achieve sustainable urbanization on our own terms.
I met him through Mrs Mariam Yunusa (of blessed memory) sometime in 2011. He has since then inspired and challenged me. An amiable man with an imposing personality. He spoke truth to power and encouraged us to be intrepid in the defence of our values.
He will be sorely missed. The great ones are leaving really big shoes to fill.
We will continue with the work that you and Mummy Mariam have left for us - Africa must achieve her full potential!
