Alan Herbert

February 18, 1944 - April 26, 2020

Alan was a very popular and extremely loved member of our club and made many, many friends, as well as meeting his partner, Sue, during his time in the club.  He joined in 2006 and has attended every megameet since, along with countless other events.  Alan was a huge supporter of the club and served on the committee for a while too.  He was always great fun to be around and was extremely generous (especially when it came to bidding on Belgian beer in the megameet auctions!). He will be greatly missed by us all.  Our deepest condolences and thoughts are with Sue and the rest of Alan's family.

Alan modelling a tiny Honda shirt - one of his many generous dontations to the megameet raffle and auctions that he so often helped drum up support for! Loved the fun and laughter!!

The is a wee snap from our Wild Atlantic Way holiday that followed on from the MegaMeet in Ireland - masterminded and meticulously planned by Alan.....we had such fun. And his poor car got filled with more soft toys along the way as Sue did shopping ....And each morning was most amusing, as Alan somehow packed, unpacked and squashed everything back into the boot from even more shopping! We had the craic!! RIP Alan - we will miss you xx

Sad to hear about Alan's passing, our deepest condolences to Sue and Alan's family. A great friend and a stalwart for the S2kUK community. Who is going to buy all the Belgian beer at the next Megameet?

I think this was either Whitby or the Lake District. Love the hat!

Alan's is such a huge loss to the community and to us all. A thoroughly lovely man, with the warmest hugs and a brilliant sense of humour, I really enjoyed seeing him at our club meets and beyond. I was delighted when he and Sue found each other and loved seeing how happy they made each other. My heart goes out to Sue and their families at this time xx
