I have the fondest memories of my dearest mamu as a child. He was always so caring, loving and encouraging. He always there to guide us, and watch over us.. which now he continues to do so.
The relationship between my mother and her brother was a bond like no other, he was always there for my mother whenever she needed him. My mother suffers from dementia, but Abdullah mamu was there every week to make her smile, laugh and share memories with her!
He has been my father’s right hand and biggest emotional support. They could talk for hours, they had a very honest relationship. Throughout his travels, he always brought something back for my father, which always put a smile on his face! “Yeh tho Abdullah laya hai” is a common phrase in our house.
He was an excellent son, I remember how he used to come visit my nana and nani every week, even with the busiest of schedules. I remember many times when he would arrive at 12am and leave early in the morning at 5am just to spend some time with his parents.
He was one of the pillars of our family, he will be missed very dearly.
