Alan Raine

November 8, 1960 - October 28, 2021

Shortly after arriving from New Zealand in 1988 Alan joined the Licensing business as a Chemical Engineer and worked on many engineering designs across different technologies. Throughout his career Alan traveled the world, visiting clients and commissioning several chemical plants and always developed a strong and unique bond with the people he met. Alan’s career flourished in Project Management where he was highly respected and valued by the Engineering team, CT community and his customers. Alan was a special person with a great character and sense of humour which endeared him to people and allowed him to approach challenges with positive optimism. Alan was indeed a good friend to many and will be hugely missed by all who knew him.

I will always remember Alan walking in the office in his shorts and cycling gear. Although I have only worked with him a couple of year, I will always remember him as a kind soul. He was one of the few people who returned just before we open the office after the lock-down. I will always remember how he used to pass by my side of the office to see how I was and to let me know he was on the other site of the office if I need anything. I regret not saying how thankful I was to talking with him, listen to his stories during a really difficult time when nearly nobody was in the office. Alan was a supportive person, with great sense of humour which a light way to help you to face difficult situations. He was a good sample to follow and learn from.. Even after his lost, it left a good lesson to me ... Recognise and thank anybody in your life today an now, don't wait until tomorrow to be grateful to others.
