Yasho Wardhan Sarda

October 28, 1952 - June 28, 2020

Dearest all, We wish to inform of the merging of Syt. Yasho Wardhan Sarda's soul with the almighty Brahman on 28 June 2020. Over the last few days we have been humbled by the condolence wishes, messages and texts. Your words have meant a lot to us as we mourn Yasho's loss. Yasho touched the lives of many during his lifetime in Zambia, India and beyond as a wonderful son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He was a wonderful man, who loved his family deeply and he always had a remarkable quality of making people comfortable around him, while sharing his ideas and wisdom about the world. Yasho is now in a peaceful place and, in his memory, we would like to create a memoir book that can be kept by his immediate family members, including his mother, wife and two sons. We will be delighted and hugely grateful if you can share your lovely memories and photos with Yasho here as we continue to celebrate his life. We wish to thank everyone for their constant prayers, wishes & support. Om Shanti

It’s as though it happened recently but couple of years have passed. The days when Sheela aunty was in Italian Hospital and I was visiting them almost everyday. Uncle and I spent those evenings with long conversations and he was so enterprising, knowledgable and my evenings were so interesting with his past experiences and always returned home with more business ideas. Can’t forget his story about his stint as a DJ in Kitwe. I even felt so special with him when Sheela aunty mentioned that uncle would eagerly wait for my visit in the evenings. He was so excited with a child like joy to experience my new car and while he was sharing Dhruv’s latest car purchase experience proudly, he was equally happy of mine as his own. I remember my complaint to Dhruv over uncle thanking me profusely even for an insignificant help, only to realise later that it was his very nature to appreciate any small help from people around him and always wanted to be independent. His sense of humour only made him more coveted. Dhruv! Varun! He was such a proud father for both your achievements in life. He put both your life in forefront and didn’t want to trouble you for his needs which he was so vocal and proud about it. He wanted to give you both the freedom which he enjoyed from his father. You both have truly fulfilled his wishes and have sent him off as a celebrated father. Wished he lived much longer and continued to enjoy his life and both your life too.
