Like a true leader, he connected with one and all in a meaningful way. He was a true ally, someone who you could look up to for help anytime. He was a tremendous influence and inspiration to all around him. Our professors remembered him fondly whenever I visited the school in later years. Although I had not been in touch with Vijay for many years, we interacted about 5 years ago as he was trying to help a childhood friend of mine reconnect with me as both of us had lost contact over the years. It is just one small example of how much he liked to help others. The world has just become little poorer by losing him, but his memories will live on forever in our hearts.
