I wish to pass on my sincere condolences to Val's family. I knew her for many years as a fellow string tutor, and she was a kind mentor when she came to observe my lessons, putting me at my ease.
I recently saw her play in a Bruckner symphony in Colchester, and we had a nice catch-up chat.
It's good she was still able to play - and Bruckner at that!- till shortly before she died. I'm sure she will be very missed by countless young Essex musicians.
All the best, Roni
