A wonderful, caring human being and great longtime and much loved friend of a small group of other mums raising autistic sons.
Traci Webster, from Arlington, Texas, aged 54 years.
She was an amazing mother to Zach and a founding member of a small group of mums raising boys with severe autism, a group that is still going strong thirty years later. Her close friends in this community extend the length of North America, from the Maritimes in Canada, down the East Coast, from Wisconsin to Florida and Texas, plus one in Australia. Even with the vastness of distance, some of us saw each other in person, one even flying from the other side of the world. There has always been a close bond between us all.
Traci was truly treasured by us and we are devastated by her death. Tracy showed incredible resilience with her ongoing health issues and humour even when life was tough.
Over the years, as our boys grew up, we supported each other as only mothers of young men on the spectrum do. We shared laughter, remembered every birthday, understood the pressures and shared helpful behavioural strategies whenever advice was sought. We were always there for each other.
Vocationally, Traci was a nurse in the armed services and was very proud of this particular photo and also her professional career.
Traci, we will never forget you. Or your beautiful smile.
Remembered with love.
Debs, Jessie, KK, Amy, Missy, Julie, Betty, Heidi and Dorian.
