I met Taylor for the first time ten years ago at a meeting of the October Gallery in London. On political economy as you may have guessed. Slightly unconventional in his kindness, sharp, wise in his ways of communicating, including with the European Commission for whom he was then doing some cutting edge guidance with Sue Unsworth on improving the EC context analysis in sectors and the developing countries in which it operates. Up till now still highly relevant and the best in its sort, as was their analytical tool on international drivers of corruption for the OECD. What a joy!! My work at ECDPM on politics in development highly benefited from his insights, decency and that smile, by which I will continue to remember him. My deepest condolences for those closest to him and all those touched by Taylor. My hunch, for ever. Jan
