Prof Tan was my lecturer for the public health statistics module back in 2018. He made a very dry and technical subject interesting with his analogies and stories. He certainly made lessons much more engaging and was always willing to answer our queries one by one, even if it meant staying behind class to address them. I will always remember him as a dedicated, patient and personable lecturer during my time in NUS as an undergraduate. My deepest condolences to his family. He will be missed fondly.
